Ep. 19: THE CIPHER REWIND: Chantal Miller - Island Girls Rock!

We’re celebrating International Women’s Month. Chantal Miller and I discuss how media misrepresentations of African and Caribbean communities fueled feelings of isolation among Black Britons.

We’re celebrating International Women’s Month by replaying our favourite conversations with powerful women who are changing the world before we drop our NEW season on April 14.

Straight from Nevis, we have a Caribbean connection for our final Women’s History Month celebration — @chantal_olivia_miller_ from Island Girls Rock.

Chantal started islandgirlsrock.com as a cultural movement. A movement for positivity. A movement to represent those from her diaspora in community and entrepreneurship.

She and I unpacked the impact of the severe mis- and under-representation of our communities on our sense of nationhood. We talked about the role Chantal and her team played in unearthing the painful truths about the Windrush scandal.
