Proud dreamers, these two artists created their Freetown Collective as a form of self-expression that would provide a uniquely Caribbean perspective.
The two, who had very different careers before starting the band, met in 2010; their meeting was a meeting of minds; they bonded over their love of music and passion for social advocacy.
Freetown Collective would become a source of music and thoughtful social advocacy. In this special episode, hear them talk to Christabel about discovering the world through magazines, being raised by politically militant parents, pushing back against old ideas of what Black manhood looks like, and so much more.
